Being "free" its hard to justify any criticism of this app. However, while DS Audio is an ok player, it makes finding and listening to music a lot of work.
You cant simply hit a button to have it stream random songs continuously. Instead, you always have to create a playlist -- even if you want just one song. Be sure to clear the old playlist first as the app remembers it.
There is a "Random 100" playlist, but it will generate the same random 100 until you *completely* quit the app and try again.
If you want to add a individual songs youll have to navigate to each one and add it to the playlist. But when you click a song, the whole album is unintuitively added to the playlist. Youll need to bring up a secondary menu by carefully clicking an icon to add single songs.
The workaround to these usability problems is to make playlists for everything -- and spend time to maintain those lists as your library grows.
This has been an issue for a long time (early versions of this app didnt have these problems) and I was disappointed years ago when support responded to my inquiry about the degraded usability by suggesting that I make playlists. With the announcement of improved usability in this new version I was really hoping for it to be better.
